Do You Know the Truth?

Dear Friend:

I don’t know who you are and what you are going through. But I hope this letter will help you find the answers that you are looking for. May be life is going good for you. But if you think that there is something better than this life has to offer, then I want to tell you that you are not alone. I want to share with you the truth that will bring love, peace, joy, hope, and purpose in your life.

You and I cannot deny the fact that our life in this world is not free of problems: pain, suffering, violence, lust, pride, loneliness, anxiety, depression, stress, fear, sickness, diseases, hunger, thirst, poverty, sexual immorality, injustice, addictions (drug, alcohol, sexual), hopelessness, death, and all kinds of evil. You might be seeking to be free from life problems or to overcome them. Or you might be asking why there is evil, suffering, and death in this world.

People follow various religious, philosophical, and scientific worldviews to find answers to questions related to origin, life, meaning, and morality: Atheism, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, and the various other religions and schools of philosophy. But they all contradict each other, so what’s the truth?

If you seek the truth, you will find that there is only one worldview that provides coherent answers to all our life questions and problems. And that is, the Judeo-Christian worldview based on the Bible. The Bible is the only book that is verifiable with historical events and agreeable with the spiritual, mental, and physical realities of our lives.

The truth is that there is a God who created everything that exists. He created the first man and woman with a freewill. But they and their descendants after them did not keep God’s commandments. As people multiplied on the earth, their reverence for God and their knowledge about the truth and righteousness of God declined over time. People suppressed the truth of God by unrighteous works and by following their own thoughts and imaginative ideas. As a result, both men and women have gone so far from the truth that today many don’t know who God is and why they suffer and die in this world.

There is death and suffering in this world because of sin. Sin is disobedience to God’s commandments. Sin separated us from God. Sin is like cancer that leads to death. We die because we are sinners by nature, and we have forfeited our right to live on the earth. However, because of God’s mercy and unconditional love, He had a plan to save us from sin and death, and to restore our broken fellowship with Him.

So, God raised up the Jewish nation and revealed Himself to them as the only true living God. There was a period in history when the whole world dreaded the God of the Jews. God gave the Jews commandments and showed them that there is no forgiveness of sins without shedding of blood. Your good works cannot save you nor justify you as a righteous person before God. Therefore, through the Jews, God appointed one Man, Jesus Christ, to be crucified for our sins and to rise from the dead. On earth, Jesus walked in power and authority in equal standing with God. After His resurrection, Jesus commanded His disciples to share the truth to the world. Only by faith in His name, we can be healed and be set free from the power of sin, darkness, and death.

Those who believe in Jesus will receive forgiveness of sins and will be able to live the life that is acceptable to God. Through Jesus, we can now have a relationship with God. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can come to God except through Him.” Jesus is coming back to judge the world. If we believe and obey Jesus, we will live with Him after we die. Otherwise, we will be separated from God forever in hell. Believe Jesus!
